Handmade Boho Clothing: Why I Created “Artisanal Threads”

If you know me, you know I like different and colorful. 😂 I have never been one to want exactly what everybody else has. The problem is, I cannot always find what I am looking for anywhere! So, what did I do? I dug to the depths of Google. I spent countless hours searching for handmade boho clothing and those special little places that create the kind of clothes I love, and that is how my new Artisanal Threads collection started!

I Want Real Patchwork

Let me explain something about patchwork. To me, patchwork is NOT a print that looks like patches. I want those patches SEWN together. I want the real thing. I love the different fabrics, colors, seams, and little details. I love knowing that a piece may look similar to another one, but it is not exactly the same. That is what I love about handmade boho clothing.

The pixie skirts being added to Artisanal Threads are a perfect example. They have similar color schemes and that beautiful, colorful boho look I love. However, each skirt is unique. Not one is exactly the same, and I LOVE that!

Countless Hours Searching for Something Different

I have spent more hours than I probably want to admit searching for items that are different. Some nights, I have stayed up way too late looking at clothing, makers, fabrics, and small businesses. Along the way, I have also learned a lot about fair trade and the people who make these beautiful pieces. I love learning about women workers in other countries being supported through their work. It has made me think more about where products come from, who made them, and the story behind the things we buy. I am still learning. I think that is an important part of this whole journey.

Artisanal Threads Is About More Than Clothing

Artisanal Threads is not about filling my website with a bunch of clothing just to have something to sell. I want handmade boho clothing that feels special.

I want color, texture, real patchwork. I want those odd little details that make you stop and say, “Well, I haven’t seen that before.” Most of all, I want to offer pieces that I would actually wear myself.

Somehow, All the Pieces of My Life Are Coming Together

There is something about this new path I have decided to take that just feels right. I am taking little pieces of my farm and the things I love and turning them into Wooly Wildflowers & Honey.

Farm life and ALL the animals, my honey bees, my sheep, wool, and yarn, wildflowers, colorful bohemian clothing, handmade items, and my journey of learning new ways to live a little more naturally. At first, these things may sound like they do not go together. But to me, they do. They are all pieces of who I am. Maybe Wooly Wildflowers is a little like one of my patchwork skirts. Different pieces, different colors, and different stories all sewn together to make something beautiful.

Welcome to Artisanal Threads

If you love handmade boho clothing, colorful patchwork, unique pieces, and clothing that does not look like everything else hanging on a store rack, I think you are going to love this collection. Keep checking back because I am still searching, still learning, and definitely still staying up way too late finding special things to bring to Wooly Wildflowers & Honey. 😂

Be Bold. Be Ewe. And never be afraid to wear something a little different.
