Made in Greece, ANEL hives follow the standard Langstroth design used by beekeepers in the United States and many other countries. They are lightweight, maintenance-free and designed to work with compatible Langstroth equipment.
Now available in yellow, white and pink! This kit includes a deep hive body, medium super, frames, a ventilated bottom board and an insulated outer cover.

Durable Plastic Construction
The ANEL insulated plastic beehive features a hard-shell outer body made from high-quality, food-grade polypropylene (PP). The hive body and cover also contain a thick layer of polyurethane (PU) foam insulation.
The polyurethane foam is formed inside the plastic components during manufacturing. This construction creates an insulated hive designed to help reduce the effects of outdoor temperature changes.
All parts that come into contact with the bees or their products are made from new, virgin, food-grade plastic.
Polyurethane Insulation for Every Season
Honey bees work hard to maintain suitable conditions inside their hive. Insulation can help reduce the amount of effort required to manage temperature changes.
ANEL uses high-density polyurethane foam in the hive body and cover. The manufacturer states that its insulation provides a level of thermal resistance comparable to approximately 7 cm of wood.
This insulation helps slow heat loss during cold weather and heat gain during warmer months. As a result, it can help the colony maintain a more stable internal environment.
Good hive management is still important, but insulation offers an additional benefit for beekeepers looking for an alternative to traditional wooden equipment.
Maintenance-Free and Lightweight
One of the biggest advantages of an ANEL plastic beehive is its low-maintenance construction.
Unlike wooden hive boxes, these components do not require painting or the same routine protection against rot. They are designed to resist moisture and decay without absorbing water like wood.
The durable plastic construction also resists cracking and deformation under normal intended use. In addition, the lightweight design makes hive components easier to handle during routine apiary work.

Designed for the Working Apiary
ANEL hives are designed with practical beekeeping in mind. Latches help secure the components, while the ventilated bottom board supports airflow through the hive.

The plastic construction also resists corrosion from several substances used in beekeeping, including oxalic acid, formic acid, chlorine and caustic potash. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for chemical concentration, handling and cleaning.
Compatible With Langstroth Equipment
The ANEL insulated plastic beehive follows the standard Langstroth format.
Its components can be combined with compatible Langstroth wooden hive equipment. This gives established beekeepers flexibility when adding insulated plastic equipment to an existing apiary.
